Pastor Welcome

My name is Jay Crossen and it is my privilege to serve as pastor of the Exeter Christian Reformed Church.  My life has been transformed by the saving work of Jesus and it is my joy to share His gospel truth.

This is not a truth that I have always known.  I came to know the Lord in my twenties and went through quite a journey of learning, growing and reassessing my life based on this life-changing encounter.  I had been working as a structural engineer, my dream job, and yet felt God’s call on my life to enter full time ministry.  My family and I moved to Grand Rapids, Michigan where I studied for 4 years pursuing my Master’s of Divinity at Calvin Theological Seminary where I was further formed.  Not only did this formal education help to prepare me for life in ministry, but I was also privileged to be a part of prison ministry, which shone a new light on the Word of God for me and the power of the Spirit.  I was inspired and continue to be inspired by this experience.

Exeter Christian Reformed Church is the second church I have been called to serve in.  I count it a great privilege to build relationships with the church community, to witness the Lord at work, to hear stories about the intersections between faith and life lived out, and to journey alongside fellow believers.  It is a joy and great responsibility to share the Word of God each Sunday as together we strive to be His image bearers in this church and the broader community.

I am married to my wife, Marique, and together we have 5 children.  Lillian, Eli, Marja, Gloria, and Grace are my 5 greatest hobbies!  Aside from spending time with my family I also enjoy hockey, golf, camping, fishing, and music.

I look forward to getting to know you!  Please do not hesitate to call me to set up a time to meet.
